Hi, I’m Erica and I am more than a decade out from my Roux-En-Y gastric bypass surgery.

Before and after RNY Gastric Bypass Surgery

I would like to help you with taking those first steps toward and/or after your surgery. I remember all too well how scary was to begin even considering weight loss surgery as an option – much less actually having it done.

I am really good at sharing my life experiences and breaking down some big topics. Let’s face it: my experience has been less than ideal. It is my ultimate goal to help others go into this with their eyes wide open, knowing all the good, bad, and ugly that can come.

Since my goal here is create a place of support and encouragement to those who are where I was, I think it’s only right to share some random facts to start our friendship off.

Here goes:

  1. Kentucky will always be my home.
  2. My family is made up of die hard Wildcat fans (Go big blue!) but it was a Cardinal that saved my life. Oh, the irony!
  3. Acts of Service is my love language (hence the super helpful website).
  4. Family is everything and I’ve been blessed with a great one.
  5. I love to put cinnamon in my oatmeal.
  6. Karaoke became one of my favorite pastimes in a dive bar when I was 15. (It was across from the skating rink that I was supposed to be at!)
  7. I used to be an avid reader ~ a habit I hope to one day get back to.
  8. Clumsy is my middle name. So clumsy, in fact, that I once ran head first into a truck. (In my defense, it was raining and I used to run with my head down.)
  9. My high school interest inventory predicted I would be either a teacher or a mortician. Explain to me how those are even remotely related, please? LOL
  10. My favorite beach vacation to date was one I took with my mom and my kids when we visited Okaloosa Island. I highly recommend it!

So… that’s enough about me. I’m so glad you’re here. Welcome. Stay a while. Please comment on posts. I look forward to talking with you.
