5 Ways That I Want to Help You

My blog exists for the sole purpose of giving aspiring or current bariatric patients the information, strategies, and first-hand knowledge I wish I’d had when starting on this journey.

Make no mistake, this is absolutely a journey of life-long changes. It’s not an easy fix. It’s no magic pill.

It’s a tool and, just like any other tool, there are things you need to know. Some of those might be how to wield it, what there is to gain from the tool, and what the consequences can be of misusing it.

Here are my 5 main goals for this blog.

  1. Empower people with the skills they need to make the most of their weight loss surgery.

Because this journey is one of some serious changes, it can become discouraging. We’ve all wanted to achieve health and freedom SO much and yet it always seems to evade us, right?

I’ve been there. I’ve felt the pain of wanting it so badly and feeling as if it will never be within reach.

It is, though. It’s yours for the taking. My goal is to make you feel that you can grasp it because you’ll have the help of a new friend with you along the way.

  1. Provide real life examples of what post-op life is like. Good, bad, and the really, really ugly.

Believe it or not, your journey to health and happiness using this tool relies on so much more than just what you’re eating.

None of us, myself included, became morbidly obese because we had no terrible life habits.

Along the way, I want to share with you some of the things I’ve learned that have helped me to combat my own demons.

I’ll share my struggles and complications as well as my success because I want you to go into this with a clear understanding that it’s not always sunshine and roses. I want to be there to help as you fight your battle so that you can ultimately win the war.

  1. Recommend only the best products that helped me along the way.

Occasionally, I want to share with you products I’ve used, books I’ve read, influencers I’ve followed, and many other things that helped me through more than a decade of my WLS journey.

I am not a fan of wasting money, so you can rest assured that anything I suggest provided me value.

  1. Help you find the motivation and confidence you need to keep moving forward.

Engines lose steam sometimes. In the weight loss surgery (WLS) community, that can happen during a plateau (which does still happen, btw).

I consider it my job to be there to cheer you on, to give you strength to persevere, and to give you a hand up when you fall.

And you will stumble on occasion. That’s completely normal. If you can make it as long as I have and you haven’t stumbled, you’re a unicorn. No joke.

  1. Write blog posts to help share insight and answer questions for you along your journey.

I do work two jobs and manage this site on the side. Right now I’m having some difficulty figuring out how to make this as consistent as it needs to be, but I commit to answering all the questions I can as quickly as I can.

So… if you have a question, reach out to me. I’m an open book. My full experience is here for you to learn from. There’s a comment box below if you need help now. Hit me up!

Conclusion

In a nutshell, this website is for you by someone who’s been where you are. I’m still living it and still learning. My ultimate goal is to demonstrate for you exactly how you can make this change into your life and become a weight loss surgery success story. Come along with me.
